The 40-hour recoil report
We tested every meta rifle across ranked to find what actually climbs the ladder.
Sydney's loudest gaming zine
Reviews, ranked-grind strategy and esports culture from a crew that actually finishes the campaign. Printed loud, straight from Darlinghurst.
Our mission
WildBattleHeroes started in a Darlinghurst share-house in 2019 as a photocopied zine passed around Sydney LAN nights. We still write like that: opinionated, ink-stained and allergic to marketing spin. Every review means we bought the game, ground the hours, and told you the truth.

What we cover
Scored only after we roll credits or hit the rank ceiling — never from a preview build.
Build orders, loadouts and boss patterns tested against the current patch, not last season's.
On-the-ground reporting from Australian LANs plus bracket breakdowns of the majors.

Controllers, keyboards and headsets stress-tested through real ranked sessions.

Long-form chats with the studios shaping the scene, from solo devs to AAA leads.

Meet-ups and playtests hosted around inner Sydney — bring a controller, leave with mates.
Reader mail
"Their recoil report saved me a fortune — I skipped the hyped rifle and climbed two ranks in a fortnight. No other AU site does the testing like this."
"I found three of my favourite indie games this year through their roundup. The writing has that fanzine energy that big outlets lost years ago."
"Went to their Darlinghurst community night as a lurker and left with a five-stack. The tournament recaps read like you were courtside. Proper local coverage."
